BHASHALAB LANGUAGE CARNIVAL, 2025 - A FUN GAME EVENT FOR ALL

OBJECTIVE

To create a platform for participants to showcase their language skills while having fun.


WHAT IS IT?

BhashaLab Language Carnival 2025 (BLC 2025) is an offline language game event. This year’s language is English.


WHERE AND WHEN?

The event will be organized in BhashaLab premises at Nitrro Sport & Fitness Center, Kanhaiya Nagar, Kopri, Thane East 400603 on 16th February 2025 from 9AM to 2PM. 


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The games will be separately organized for:

  • School Students (Std 3 and above)

  • College Students and Adults (Std 11 and above students, moms and dads, friends and relatives, educators)

Top performers of Game 1 will move to Game 2. 


REGISTRATION

There is no registration fees. However, kindly fill the registration form so that we know exactly how many participants are turning up. We will be making the arrangements accordingly. Filling the registration form is compulsory. 


SEPARATE FORMS 

If from a family, 3 members (Mom, Dad and Daughter) are participating, then 3 individual registration forms need to be filled. 


WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

  • Loads of learning and fun!  

  • We have also arranged certificates and merchandise for all participants and winners. 

  • All participants and winners will feature on the BhashaLab Leaderboard too. This leaderboard can be checked on the BhashaLab website. 


WHAT DO I CARRY?

  1. Two pens

  2. A writing pad

  3. A water bottle

  4. Some snacks to eat


ARE WASHROOMS AVAILABLE?

Yes. Adequate. Clean and safe washrooms.


CAN I BRING MY FAMILY / WHOLE CLASS / OFFICE?

Absolutely! We encourage participation from individuals, families, schools, colleges and offices. BUT, register by 12th February 2025. We will have enough time to make arrangements. 


GAME 1 

Word Slash

  1. Take the paper with the grid

  2. A hint will be given

    Eg. Write five English words. The words should be of three letters each. The words should start with ‘c’. 

  3. Write the words in the boxes in a sequence.

  4. Total five such hints will be given. Three minutes for each hint. The objective is to write words which others may not easily think of. 

  5. The hints will be simple. Kindly do not worry. Minimum three letter words and maximum five letter words may be expected. 

  6. It is not expected that you know all the words. Write as many as possible. 

  7. Once all five hints have been given, a random candidate selected by us will call out a word which he has written. 

  8. All the participants including the one who called out the word will slash COT.

  9. 25 such words will be called out. After the 25th word, the number of UNSLASHED words will be counted for each participant.

  10. Top  performers from each group with maximum number of unslashed words will move to GAME 2. 


GAME 2

Snakes and Ladders

  1. A life-sized snakes and ladders 7 x 7 board will be arranged. The selected participants from Game 1 have to stand on START.

  2. The first participant will roll the die. If 4 turns up, he will move to Number 4. 

  3. Suppose a ladder is available on Number 4, the participant will pick a chit and answer the vocab question. 

  4. If he answers correctly, he can take the ladder. If not, he remains on the same square.  

  5. If a snake appears on Number 4, the participant still picks a chit. If he is able to answer the vocab question, he will not be swallowed. 

  6. The game will last for maximum 60 minutes. Whoever is leading at the end of 60 minutes is the winner. 


Decision of BhashaLab judges will be final. 


Please take the games in the right spirit. The objective is to learn while having loads of fun!
